CELEBRATION TIME! What a great time we had today. We celebrated School Girls Read 6th Book Club discussion. This was our last meeting for the school year.
We met at the home of one of our members. It was so wonderful! We played in the treehouse, the sandbox, and swung on the zipline! Oh I can't forget the most fun of all---the pool!!!!! Ms. Kathy, was our personal life guard was great fun in the pool! (Thank you Ms. Kathy for making sure our children stayed safe). Everyone was swimming and jumping in the water. Except Kristina. She was swimming in the water but became afraid when we all started jumping in. She had to be reminded, "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind" 1 Timothy 1:7. Once she said it, she ran with her brother and jumped right in. We all cheered for her.
Our book for this month was, "Molly the Brave and Me". It was about a little girl who felt she was not brave like her friend Molly only to find out in the end, she was the bravest of all. Ms. Patricia asked what we thought made Molly so brave. Some of us said she know Jesus and others said she had guts! We all agreed she wasn't afraid because she knew Jesus and that He was her guide.
We also celebrated Elsye's birthday. The cupcakes and slushies were delicious!
We will miss our monthly meeting over the summer but promised that we would continue to read. Besides, the girl who reads the most book over the summer will win a gift certificate at the September meeting! That's going to be me!!
A special thank you to Ms. Karianne for opening her home to us. May God continue to bless you and your family.
Thank you to all the parents for their support and encouragement over the last 6th months. SGR would not have been successful without you.
To our Lord and Savior, thank you for blessing us with SGR Book Club. We pray that you have been pleased with all we have done.
See you all in September!
