Kimberly & Ashley's Review - The Josephina Story Quilt
We thought the book was full of emotions. It was happy and sad. It was fun to read about Faith's adventures on her journey. We felt nervous at times wondering if everyone would stay safe. The book was very sad at the end when her beloved pet hen passed away. Overall we liked the book and would recommend it to our friends.
The Josephina Story Quilt
Wow! Today was the best book club discussion. Well, maybe not the discussion but the craft was wonderful! We made a "SGR Adventures" quilt. It was awesome!
Ms. Diane and Selah planned the entire event. We got to paint our adventure on colored squares. Each girl received a colored squared, drew their adventure with a pencil and then painted it. Some of the adventures were: a trip to Disney World on a plane, a trip to New York City, camping in the backward, a trip to the beach, a trip to the park where they flew their kite, seeing Princess Arial at Disney World, going to the Sight and Sound Theatre in PA and so much more. We talked about the book as we worked but I can tell you, we were all excited about working on our adventure patch. We were missing a few girls but Ms. Diane and Ms. Patricia will make sure they recieve their patch to work on to be included in the quilt. The quilt will be hung in the school's library. How exciting they all the students will see what we've made.
We had so many good treats too this month -- chocolate chip muffins (our favorite), bagels w/vegetable cream cheese (yummy), buttered croissants, cheese crumb cake, lemon pound cake, juice and hot chococate (another one of our favorites).
We just have 2 more book club meetings -- May and June. The time has really gone by fast. I'm sure the last book club meeting will be an awesome celebration!

Kristina's Review - The Josephina Story Quilt
I liked this book. It taught me about wagon trails and the importance of quilt making. I didn't know what a wagon trail was before reading the book and I don't think I could ride or sleep in one for a long time. Faith was a very brave girl and she is very creative. The best part I liked was when Faith and her family finished making the quilt when they got to California. By looking at the quilt, they remembered a lot of the different events about the trip and Josephina.
