We missed a few of our regular friends today (They are off on vacation during this Easter break). But to our surprise Kristina's brother was at the meeting and Hailey's baby brother. Both of them were very good. Kristina's brother did not bother us girls at all and Hailey's baby brother didn't even cry during our book club time. They were really good boys.
Our discussion started with a Junie B. Word Scramble. What a challenge that was. All the words had to do about graduation. Some of us forgot what happened at graduation and some of us don't know what graduation is. So Ms. Melissa (our discussion leader) gave us clues to help us with each word. That was a big help. We all needed a snack break at that point and we took one. We enjoyed bagels, cream cheese (vegetable and strawberry), hot chocolate (with marshmellows) and donuts.
Next, we made a circle and began discussing the book. The questions really had us turning the pages in the book and looking for the "specific" answers. That was fun. On the last question, we all had the answer and one of the girls shouted out " ". Someone asked what does that mean and Ms. Melissa told us, " ".
Awaiting for us at the table was our craft project. Today, we decorated our very own journal. Just like Junie B., we each now have our own journal to write or drawn in. On the outside we all put our names (which was letters printed out by a Cricut Expression). Some of us put our names diagonal, verticial, horitzal and slanted. It was all different. Some of us used flowers, butterflies, and/or rhinestones. At the end, you were able to see our creativity.
